A Project Brief is a short paragraph explaining what you are going to develop or make, why you are going to make it and who or what the final outcome is for.
Examples of what you might want to do for your chosen pathway are below:
Web design- Build a website promoting your art/animation/cooking or hobbies. Start your own business and market it through a website.
Product Design- Design a piece of furniture, a lamp, or pen organiser for your desk. Design a bird box.
Interior Design- Plan budget and decorate your bedroom (Ask parents first!)
Create designs for a school library, new gym or space of your choice. Design the interior of a house using mood boards.
Animation- Create your own animation on Blender, After effects or other image editing Create an advert for Holyport Art Department's TV. software.
Fine Art- Develop your skills in a particular area of art. Design a sculpture for the school and create a maquette.
Textiles- Design and create a cushion for a room in your house. Knit a scarf or make a blanket. Create a jacket, dress or PJ's. Experiment with dying or weaving.
Photography - Respond to a word from A-Z through photography Create a pin hole camera and experiment with film photography Explore slow shutter speeds and SLR cameras. Learn to digitally edit your work in Photoshop or Pixlr.
Illustration Illustrate and write a children's book.

For your chosen pathway research artists, brands or designers who inspire you, you may want to create work in the style of them.

You are not limited to the below, these are just examples:
Branding- Look at Nike, Apple or Microsoft
Web design- Existing websites for companies you like. (Gyms, Services, Apple, Fashion Retailers, or APPS).
Product Design- You may want to look at Joseph and Joseph design or Dyson.
Interior Design- Look at the large companies Victoria Hagan Interiors, Hitchcox and Starck, Richard Meier and Partners Architects, You might also want to look at artists who do Installation Art such as Do Ho Sue and Anish Kapour who play with space and light.
Animation- Look at the German animator, Lotte Reiniger, or the geometric works of Oskar Fischinger, Reka Bucsi. Birmingham's 'Flatpack Festival' often has upcoming animators.
Fine Art- Fine Art covers Painting, Printmaking, Photography, Sculpture, Installation Art and Digital Art. We recommend you visit 'Starting Points' to get some ideas.
Textiles- Alexander McQueen and other major fashion houses may provide you with inspiration, Also look at the collections from Netflix's 'Next in Fashion' designers Minju Kim and Daniel Fletcher.
Photography- Ansel Adams has done some stunning film photography, you could try and make a pinhole camera as part of your project.
If you are interested in commerical headshots and fashion photography you could look at Patrick Demarchelier, Craig McDean and Lara Jade.
You could also look at Vogue fashion shoots and take inspiration from makeup programmes such as 'Glow Up' on Netflix.
Illustration Illustration can be both digital or by hand. Charlie Mackesy has illustrated in pen and watercolour in her book 'The Boy, the mole, the fox and the horse'
Quentin Blake is famous for illustration Roald Dahl's books. Many other illustrators also exist and you can start looking here for ideas.
