For this you must download their APP below and submit work between January and April 2022. Design will be digitially reviewed on the APP folders.
JUDGING there are 5 regions, up to 50 finalists per region, followed by those entrants that are announced as grand finalists 10 from each of the 5 regions and the judges’ decisions are final.

THE BRIEF
Look around you and get creative! Everywhere you see waste, there is an opportunity! Recycled materials tell stories, and also make for fabulous fashion and bring creativity to life! A design can be crafted into any style of wear- from glamour to theatrical. The only really important rule is that your design is made from 100% recycled materials! Be brave, take chances, experiment, and push the boundaries! We vision a cleaner and more sustainable environment. Show us your dreams of the future, show us these through design!
The Junk Kouture programme is a great for students and individuals able to put their experience with the Junk Kouture programme on their or applications for university.
The Junk Kouture competition requires participants to do the following:
Research designers and techniques for your design
Think about the story you want to tell through your sustainable couture
How to collect waste materials to use as your fashion textile
Design a mood board to create the visual direction of your design

Design name
Design description: this should include the idea and inspiration behind the creation, listing materials, how it was made, how it promotes sustainability, key messages. Up to 600 characters)
Design materials: All materials used in the design are included here. Up to 450 characters.
Video link:
Design name, team member names (maximum of three team members – invite will be sent to users via app to join your team), contact number and school information (name of school and location in country).
Team video: Attach a link to a video you have created and uploaded to YouTube or TikTok – max of 60 seconds long. Clip should show the fine detail of the design, show the materials used, tell us about the inspiration, show your performance – please ensure video is in portrait orientation. Should you reach the regional finals, clips of this video will be used for any digital regional shows.
Music link: Add a link to the song of choice. This will complement the finished design and finalists will be requested to supply JK with the correct section starting/ending point within the link provided. The link should be from Spotify or Apple music.
Photographs: clear images of the design must be included. One image must display the design in its entirety. Can upload up to 10 images. The first image uploaded will be displayed during any voting process.
